Art is an international language, understood by all.
Elena Petrova is a self-taught artist with background in commerce and fashion design.
Her evolving painting technique is fundamentally expressive, intuitive and independent of the outcome.
Petrova is currently residing in Whitby, Canada with her husband and two sons.
By painting I am trying to reveal the state where my mind is no longer a singer. Where I have no memories, no belonging. Where acceptance is not a result, but a tool.
I work both in the medium of painting and sculpture, often having a blurry distinction of each. My creative process, or absence of it – as I feel it, is not attached to expectations or expressions, more over, it belongs to an infinite learn of acceptance.
For me, art has the endless power to constantly forgive reasoning and liberate both the artist and the spectator in generous abundant ways. It is utmost personal and sincere.
Art is the most humble place in my life and that’s why I have courage to paint.
